Woodside Farm has operated as a farm since 1796, and today it is one of the only Centennial Farms remaining in the state of Delaware.
Woodside Farm is famous for its unique assortment of homemade ice cream. The Mitchell Family utilizes their farm acreage to produce crops that optimally support their herd of Jersey dairy cows. Their cows graze on alfalfa, orchard grass, rye grass and clover in a clean, healthy environment, and the result is very high quality, creamy milk that is ideal for ice cream making. It’s almost impossible to believe, but each delicious scoop of Woodside Farm’s homemade ice cream was grass just a matter of weeks before!
Woodside Farm Creamery uses farm fresh ingredients in their homemade ice cream to create a variety of traditional and truly unique flavors. Banana, Cherry Vanilla, Cinnamon and Butter Pecan are a few of the types of ice cream you can enjoy at Woodside Farm. Blueberry Cheesecake, Chocolate Coconut Almond and Pumpkin Pecan are some of the dozens of other flavors made at the Farm. Woodside Farm’s Peanut Butter and Jelly ice cream is an award-winning favorite with kids and adults alike. There are several kinds of delicious sugar-free ice creams as well as sorbet available at Woodside Farms, as well.
Signature Ice Creams are specially prepared at Woodside Farm Creamery for restaurants, events and organizations. Some of the interesting Signature recipe ice creams you can sample at the Farm include the intensely vanilla African Vanilla, the Canal Digger featuring butterscotch, butter brickle, caramel and chocolate bits, and Chocolate Thunder featuring chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate. Cream of Mushroom and Chocolate Toad Stools are two very unique Signature Flavors specially produced for the Kennett Square Mushroom Festival each year.
You can visit Woodside Farm Creamery every day from early April through late October, and ice cream is served from noon until dusk. Woodside Farm also attends numerous special events and celebrations throughout the season with their portable ice cream facilities. Ice cream and sundae parties may be booked for private, corporate or business functions.
