Elsie Williams Doll Collection -
Visiting this site will give you an opportunity to see dolls from all over the world. Elsie Williams was the wife of US Senator John Williams and had the opportunity to travel all over the world and collect dolls.
When she donated her collection to the Delaware Technical & Community College it would be observed by all that had an interest in them. Read more
Indian River
It was built in 1876 to be used by the United States Lifesaving Service which was established because of the alarming number of shipwrecks along the coastline. The building was originally built 400 feet closer to the shore but a sand dune began to form around it almost immediately so it was moved to its present location in 1877.
The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Read more
Seaford
This museum is filled with history with a local perspective. The community took the old post office and turned it into a fine museum.
The museum will walk you through the life of the Native American Indians of the area such as the Nanticoke Indians (they used poison arrows) and conclude with a large nylon, spinning machine which made the first synthetic fibers. You can see exhibits on early agriculture, shipbuilding, canning, the chicken industry and railroads. Now that is quite an accomplishment for a bunch of volunteers running the Museum! Read more
