Historical productions, readers’ theater and dinner theater shows are some of the other types of shows the Possum Point Players have produced.

As a grass roots community theater group, the Possum Point Players has had many homes over the years. In the beginning, members’ residences served as meetinghouses and sets were often constructed in local schools. In 1975, the Possum Point Players utilized the former H. W. T. Purnell Hardware store located on North Bedford Street, Georgetown as a permanent home for set construction and for storage. The group’s next home was the A. E. Moore warehouse located on Washington Street.

The Possum Point Players continued to utilize the warehouse on Washington Street as their home for storage, set construction and even for some performances for nearly a decade. In 1985, they purchased a vacant metal building from the Town of Georgetown. This building was originally built for youth recreation programs, and following significant renovations, Possum Hall evolved.

In 1999, a huge capital improvement program transformed Possum Hall into a large and impressive community theater. Today the group’s patrons enjoy a safe, comfortable and convenient theater experience at the 183-seat, handicapped-accessible Possum Hall.

You can attend a variety of performances throughout the year at Possum Hall. Live comedies are performed in the spring and summer, a drama is produced in the autumn, and a special musical is offered during the holiday season. Dinner theater productions are available at Possum Hall throughout the winter. To obtain a schedule of Possum Point Player productions, phone 302-856-3460.
