For 80 years the Delaware State police have proudly served their state.  At the museum you will be able to share their history with state of the art museum exhibits and educational facilities.

The force was established due to pressure on the governor because of the increase in paved roads and the speed with which the traffic was flowing (35 mph).  The force was first used on the road from Dover to Smyna and the Philadelphia Pike.

In 1920 it was the Harley-Davidson motorcycle that was the means of patrol for the force.

You will be able to learn about the difficulties faced by the force, to learn of the growth of the Delaware State Police and travel through the years of depression, prohibition and crime.
