This building was built between 1909 and 1912, separated from the Old State House which is next door in 1974.  The Supreme Court was established in the state of Delaware in 1951.

The Delaware State Courts are omitted to supporting and participating in programs designed to enhance the public’s understanding of the law and the legal system of the state.  These programs are designed for both adults and students.

This facility is rated as one of the finest historical research facilities in the nation.  It features interactive exhibits to make the history of Delaware easy and fun to learn about. There is an exhibit referred to as the “jewel box” gallery which includes a rotating exhibit of Delaware’s founding documents.

This is one of the oldest public archives programs in the country.  There are over 40,000 cubic feet of government records and historical documents located here.

The Archives maintains a library of Delawareana including state publications, books, genealogies, pamphlets, maps and newspaper clippings.

The digital archives include a 360 degree view of 17^th Century Delaware Exhibit, of Mabel Lloyd Ridgley Research room is also a 360 degree view. Read more

Delaware State Police Museum - Dover, Delaware

For 80 years the Delaware State police have proudly served their state.  At the museum you will be able to share their history with state of the art museum exhibits and educational facilities.

The force was established due to pressure on the governor because of the increase in paved roads and the speed with which the traffic was flowing (35 mph).  The force was first used on the road from Dover to Smyna and the Philadelphia Pike.

In 1920 it was the Harley-Davidson motorcycle that was the means of patrol for the force.

You will be able to learn about the difficulties faced by the force, to learn of the growth of the Delaware State Police and travel through the years of depression, prohibition and crime. Read more
